The Standard Miami has awesome staff!

Yes, I actually made the waiter give me the his order ticket to keep :-)

So I spent all day Sunday lounging poolside @thestandardmiami. I had initially anticipated a day of holistic health and cold/hot bathing rituals.. so for breakfast I ordered Granola for me + my lover. Poolside, when hungry and getting hot, you just grab the nearest staff member walking by and hope they deliver the message to a waiter. Well.. here is the proof that this system not only works, but also makes me officially the biggest fan of their service. LOL 

I say that I anticipated a healthy day because the result after unexpected friends like a local fashion designer/diva and owner of KRELwear shows up with fabulous menswear assistants in tow to soak up the sun before a busy week of MB SWIM 2010, and another local bankruptcy lawyer and gorgeous girlfriend celebrate their 2 yr anniversary.. it calls for one thing and one thing only: ENDLESS PITCHERS OF LIDO LEMONADE.. and that is currently why I am more reddish/purple than a lobster and obviously wearing turtlenecks to every swimwear fashion show this week.

THE IRONY astounds even me!

Standardly Memoirs | Recession $pa Treatments

All this chit chat about Andre Balazs has brought back some pretty fond memories from a time not too long ago. A wonderful women and accredited photographer Alissa Christine did a project called Ilovemiami365 where she shot one photo each day in Miami. The year long journey ultimately ended at the Standard Miami where they hosted a killer party on Dec 31st, 2008, to celebrate all things "Love" inspired. I would never miss a day where I could sip champagne with my lover and receive poolside mud treatments, so I included a little red circle around myself and my lover @pancake3 soaking it all up! (See image above) Now onto the Recession $pa treatment I speak of that just about anyone can afford!
The mud needs to be something we talk about, it is ordered as "The Mud Lounge" and contains freshly exported ooey gooey from France. I need also mention the three different colors that are available (green, brown and gold) which you can undress or de-suit your hot bikini clad self & creatively body paint your partner. This all takes place alongside the pool /dock area where they have luxurious free standing bath tubs which the attendants lovingly fill up as you rock to-and-fro on their mod tanning chairs and dry until your mud flakes. To rinse off, they have an array of shower heads and different pressures for all of your water-fight fun, or to adorn the sky up to 20 feet above you in spirals of aqua splendor! (Not recommended, unless you want to get pretentious glares from the celebutantes that are always lounging around) BEST part of this whole treatment: it is literally under $20 (with a daypass or membership). for more info go to The Standard Miami's spa website and make a recession reservation ASAP!
