Twitter: It's not all nonsense!

One day, I was tweeting (twitting as @pancake3 likes to call it) around and a fellow marketing savvy individual put a question out into the universe via Twitter, like a lot of wise people do these days, asking for some information about pop-ups and local brands. Now, most people, if not into retail branding or marketing, do not know what a pop-up is other than those annoying ads and spam that intrude into your webspace unexpectedly on insecure sites. I did, however, have some knowledge of the subject and wanted to learn more, so I did some quick research to find that pop-ups had actually recently been engaged by popular brand Orginial Penguin, as an attractive product source and trendy hot-spot on many college campuses.
I sent the following tweet as a response:

" @********** interesting collaboration between Original Penguin brand motives and fashion-conscious students. http://bit.ly/REXGe -from web "

Though my friend had already heard of similar activity by other brands...

"@MichalAmedia Thanks for the insight on Penguin. I know the college pop-up trend has been gaining momentum to increase #brand awareness. -from web in reply to MichalAmedia"

...the quick-link I provided him proved useful in explaining pop-ups to others in a more "non-user friendly" context in turn, making me feel SUPER!

" ******wanted to say thx for info re: Penguin pop-ups. It's helped put pop-ups into context for media I'm speaking with. about 20 hours ago "

Twitter being used as intellectual platform for business!

LOVE THAT!
