Pantone View Planner (Spring/Summer Edition)
Focusing on the color palettes of the upcoming fashion trends is much more attractive than following other aspects of trends (i.e. new cuts, accessories. etc) because I already own at least one item from every variation on the color wheel... To hear that drab colors, like weary blues and chocolate browns, will be 'pulling in all directions' seems overly appropriate for our bruised society... last year presented itself as a tough beating for many industries and individuals alike.. and 2010 seems to be evoking the bruises left behind. Maybe 2011 will be fresh rosy and rejuvenated skin tones? Anywho, this edition of the Pantone View Planner contains a list of "-ism's" that overly inspired me to seriously dive into the ethos of my wardrobe where so many of these "-ism's" are akin. Female-ism-Women are turning heads in a very new way that is assertive and powerful without relinquishing essential female attributes such as charm and seduction. Hence a colour palette that is soft, delicious and conducive to sensual beauty. Classic-ism- A modulated group of off-white represents the dense materiality of prosaic objects that are either covered or coated creating a landscape of unique uniformity. Deliberate preparation is all and nothing is left to chance. Independent-ism -Independent-ism focuses on the artisans, the creators, the individuals that do eclectic things, great things on a small scale. The colours are carefully chosen to hype one up into high-arousal mode. Today-ism-Colours pull at the weary, Blue and brown lead in all directions. Brown leads to rust or wood or chocolate. Surreal-ism-The Chains break and the ropes untangle. At last, the mind is free; it plunges forth laden with fuchsia, pink, pale grey and brown. This is what it wants to think, not what it¡s told to think. Want to stay on top of the trends on your own?
