Casale Pizzeria | Mozzarella Burrata Bar

From the owners of what is arguably one of the most genuine Italian joints in
the beach: "Sardinia" on Purdy Ave, comes "Casale", the younger
brother if you will, pizzeria/ mozzarella bar.
The restuarant features the last two wood burning ovens we will see on the beach for awhile
( damn zoning officials) and a fun open air rooftop bar area. We ordered the Mozzarella & Burrata Bar, which comes with your choice of cheese ( the Burrata Pugliese is made in house and is perfectly mild with a soft inside and harder outside) we had the Prosciutto di Parma
and baby zuchinni with mint for the 2 sides.
The ability to have hearty testers of different wines by the Quartino made tasting that much more fun & the Napoleon and vanilla gelato for dessert was bliss!
I will admit though, it is quite annoying when the staff is literally hovering over yoru table, even leaning on your chair, waiting for you to take that last bite so they can  take your plates. the place is definitely over staffed.
All in all, for a slightly older, local, and sophisticated crowd, (ok fine, and the best fresh mozzarella on the beach) check out Casale on 1800 Bay Rd Miami Beach, Fl 33139 (right behind Sardinia and adjacent/across the street from Joe Allen's).
